Bird strike: Jazz DH8C at Montreal on Sep 25th 2015

A Jazz de Havilland Dash 8-300, registration C-FJVV performing flight QK-8789 from Saint John,NB to Montreal,QC (Canada) with 49 people on board, was on final approach to Montreal’s runway 06L descending through about 2000 feet when a goose impacted and penetrated the radome also damaging the hydraulic system #2. The crew went around, worked the checklists and landed safely about 15 minutes later.

The Canadian TSB reported that due to the damage to hydraulic system the crew needed to use the alternate gear extension, the aircraft landed safely and needed to be towed off the runway.
